Jeev Milkha Singh once againa came agonisingly close to winnings a title when he lost on the third play-off hole after a gripping duel with Northen Ireland's Graeme McDowell at the Ballantine's Championship in Jeju Island.
McDowell ripped his approach to within two feet for birdie three as Jeev fluffed a four-foot putt to end a day of high drama at the par-72 Pinx Golf Club. The overnight co-leaders had fought to stalemate over 72 holes and Jeev conjured a miraculous escape from 15 feet after bunkering on the second return to the play-off hole, the par-four 18th. At the third attempt, both players produced precision iron shots but Jeev could not put his birdie putt away, leaving McDowell to hole out for his first European Tour win since 2004 and give a major boost to his Ryder Cup hopes.
Jyoti Randhawa was the next best Indian at tied 11th.
