Former soccer captain David Beckham has reportedly convinced England coach Fabio Capellothat he is fit for duty.
However,according to The Sun, the Los AngelesGalaxy star must wait untel Thursday to see if he is in the England squad to face France next week. Tirty-two-year-old Becks played for 90 minutes on Saturday comfirming tht he is match-fit. He was watched by Three Lions assistant boss Franco Baldini and backed by L A manager Ruud Gullit.
The 30-man squad for next Wednesday's friendly will be announced just after noon tomorrow. Capello has no intention of gifting Beckham his 100th cap-it has to be earned on merit. But, if Becks does make the 30, he is unlikily to be ditched when the suuad is cut down to 23 on Saturday.
